It would be great if the frost could hold off over the next couple of days so that we can watch another brilliant weekend of racing.
Cheltenham is now looming around the corner and every prep race is now essential for the trainers and horses so that they can be as ready as they can be when it comes to their big days in March.
The highlight on Saturday has to be the Grade 2 Kingmaker Novices' Chase which takes place at Warwick, where the brilliant Allmankind runs for the lethal Skeltons.
His win in the Grade 1 Henry VIII at Sandown in December was brilliant and his jumping really stood the test that day with some lovely ones at the railway fences which saw him build up a lead which was always going to be hard to pull back.
Warwick was where he won on debut at the start of November, and he has clearly taken to chasing like he did to hurdling last year there.
His opposition for this renewal, which has been won by the likes of Rough Vif and Saint Calvados, with Saint Calvados being the most recent five year-old to win the race back in 2018, is short of numbers, but it still makes for a fascinating contest.
Sky Pirate has looked a different horse over 2 mile for the Jonjo O'Neill team but this race is his 2nd preference despite Newbury's meeting already looking in doubt.
He also won here last time, staying on well at the finish to assert and he rates the main danger to Allmankind.
Cheddleton has also been in fine form for the Jennie Candlish team, winning twice this season over fences and looking good in the process.
His win at Haydock in December came over Cornerstone Lad who is highly rated and this can only suggest that this horse could also get involved here.
Tamaroc Du Mathan won first time up on his chasing debut at Wincanton in November and finished a good second at Kempton next time up behind Shishkin.
He would need to take a step forward if he was to beat Allmankind, but with the Nicholls horses this can always be expected.
The outsider of the lot is Sacre Coeur who unseated on her British rules debut at Leicester last time, but was useful in France for trainer Francois Nicolle and won four races over there before being moved to Charlie Mann's yard.
For me, I just hope racing can get the go ahead, and if I had to pick one, I would say that Allmankind will be really hard to beat with how impressive he has been, I think Tamaroc Du Mathan will take another step forward and chase him home.
