I think it's fair to say that sports wise, local teams and clubs have felt the brunt of these two lockdowns this year.
The local football divisions did manage to resume for a short time but that all was again cut short by the second lockdown, and rugby league only managed to return for one week at youth level.
So it almost means you have to ask the question, how are the sports clubs going to cope through another month at least with no action?
Well it's definitely a difficult one. Football clubs such as all the senior teams managed to resume and get some action in and so did the youth, so obviously they are still disrupted by this lockdown but like I said previous, rugby league seem to have suffered the most.
Teams did begin training again following the guidelines but when cases came back on the rise, it put an end to that, and any hope of a return to competitive action before the start of next year.
The youth league managed to squeeze in one round of matches nothing has ever got going this year it seems in terms of local action.
As soon as we seem to be making progress we end up back at square one. It feels like a never ending game of snakes and ladders where we look like we go up a ladder then almost immediately end up going back down a snake.
I think we have to keep optimistic though and keep putting things in place so that when we do get the green light again we don't stall and we make the most of it.
Away from the sports teams in the area, there is far more other clubs who are suffering as a result from this.
The local recreation centre have used technology in their approach to keep going by hosting online sessions which is a brilliant idea.
They have played a huge role in the community for many years and it's great that they have found some way where they can keep some classes going.
But in one way or another, everyone has been affected by this, so let's hope we can all get back to playing sport again as soon as possible because we definitely need it!
