Cheltenham Festival Day Three Review - More Irish Dominance.

Updated: Oct 28, 2022

This is the quick review of Day Three of the Cheltenham Festival, going through all results from the day and also how my selections did, (I don't think we should talk about them but).

Envoi Allen fell in the Marsh Chase and cost a guy £500,000, devastating may I add, and Chantry House picked up the pieces in a one-two for English trainer Nicky Henderson.

A change of fortune for our trainers, finally!

It wasn't to continue though, as Mrs Milner won the next for Bryan Cooper and trainer Paul Nolan, Come On Teddy was back in 3rd for me at 10/1, before Allaho won the Ryanair Chase for the Blackmore-Bromhead partnership.

Flooring Porter then caused an upset in the Stayers Hurdle, with Paisley Park only finishing in 3rd, as Ireland were dominating again.

The Shunter won the next Emmett Mullins and then Blackmore and Bromhead were at it again when Telmesomethinggirl won the Mares Novice Hurdle in style.

English trainers must be getting fed up of the Irish winning race after race, but they just couldn't stop them no matter how hard they tried.

The last race went to Jack Kennedy on board Mount Ida who breezed into the lead going down to the last before pulling clear in effortless fashion.

It was devastating watching Envoi Allen do what he did though, thankfully he's fine and will race another day and that's all we can ask for when a horse falls.

He'll be back and better than ever I'm sure of it, but let's hope my selections can be better tomorrow, despite more competitive action on the way, and the Gold Cup of course!
