Hello everyone! You thought I'd forgotten about you lot didn't you?
I'm back, I've got a small break in my schedule on a Monday evening, so I thought I would have a chat with you, strap yourselves in as always.
It has been a very busy time of things as of late, as I'm sure you've seen if you've been keeping up to date with social media.
Now before I start I need to address some rumours I feel that have been going around about me.
No I'm not a new TikTok star, sorry to disappoint I know.
The ones that you have seeing have been aimed at the newsdays we are currently doing as part of a module.
So all I'm saying is don't get too comfortable into thinking they are going to become a regular thing, although for someone who very rarely watches Love Island, I thought I nailed them, if I do say so myself.
What you didn't see though was the behind the scenes of those short videos.
It must've taken me and cameraman Ryan at least 30 minutes to produce the last one because we had no idea how to put a background on as a green screen.
I'm only 21 and even I feel like I'm too old to be doing Tiktoks after that, I didn't have a clue what I was doing, hence why they are very basic ones compared to some that you see.
Media is constantly changing though, and how people get their news is also altering so, who knows, TikToks might just be the way forward, as I'm sure my lecturer Steve would strongly agree.
But to move away from all of that, it is nice to catch my breath for a second and take a look back at the last few weeks.
I've covered so many stories that I feel like I could publish a book with them all, but there's been some great ones along the way, and it's times like that I appreciate what I do.
You get that chance to tell someone else's story and tell it in a way you think they would want it to be told, and when it all comes together it just feels great.
At the minute I'm just doing some filming alongside the person I'm working on it with in Alex, and being able to do a documentary on a sporting matter gives you this insight into so many different aspects.
I won't spoil it too much but, when you go out and do all the interviews you get rewarded by this piece you put together in the end, which is just what you pictured when you first set off on it all, hopefully anyways.
By not blogging recently, there's also been a lot of sport that I haven't been able to update you all on.
Next week though does see Cheltenham take place, and I'm hoping I'll be able to find time to do my usual pieces previewing each day, and seeing how we get on.
To say I'm excited would be an understatement, I love it when it comes around every year because for me there's no feeling like it when you hear that roar go off on the first day.
The reality is we need these big sporting events to take place to keep us all interested, and it certainly has me hooked for a long time because I start thinking about it as soon as it gets to October time.
In rugby union we saw Fylde and Sedgley serve up a real treat for everyone in attendance on Saturday afternoon.
A very good performance from the hosts, up there with the best I've seen in my short stint at the club, which unfortunately comes to a close before long.
I've only got another two home matches to go this season, and I'm already beginning to feel like I'm going to miss it.
Don't worry though, if anyone was of course, Fylde will always be in my mind and I'll always be wanting to pop in from time to time and see how everyone is getting on.
Across to the other code, and it is so good to have rugby league back in full swing.
Through the off season it is hard without it, because your so used to going out and doing matches, but fear not, that has all ended again now and like I said at the start, every aspect of my life has been busy recently.
It's another thing that I like about this blog though, I get to be myself, and not worry too much about writing stories up for other bits of work, and I can just talk to whoever wants to listen.
Whether it be in my hometown of Millom, or something as large as someone tuning in from the States, you all get to see the same person.
That's why to me this blog is way more than just journalism.
To sit here and pretend I'm a person who is very open would be a straight up lie, I'm a person who keeps themselves to themselves and just gets on with it.
But by doing this blog you see who I am beneath all of the stuff that usually covers it.
For me, I grew up wanting to play sport at the highest level I could, when I realised that I wasn't it still meant I would be staying in sport, because I can't escape it as it's always been a a part of my life.
I never want it to leave, it might give you the lows to go along with the highs, but the truth is you have to experience those lows to get to the highs sometimes.
I'm aware I've switched it up entirely here and gone deep beneath the surface and started digging around in the basement of my inner thoughts, but like I said, it's more than just sport in this blog, it's me.
To come full circle then, and to put things into perspective, sport to me gives me that adrenaline rush that everyone looks for.
It's the same when I run, the same when I write or do journalism, I get that same feeling.
However, they never last for long enough, and you have to go searching for that next one, but what you do know is that sport is never going to be the be all and end all.
There's always going to be a life away from it, and for me, this blog is one of them.
Tiktoks, not so much.
So I'll keep in touch with you all, more regularly again hopefully, but if I can't, you know where I am, I'm chasing that adrenaline rush somewhere else.
